Offer your kids nutritious meals and snacks with an appropriate number of calories. You can help them develop healthy eating habits by making favorite dishes healthier and by reducing calorie-rich temptations. Encourage healthy eating habits. Provide plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grain products. Include low fat or non fat milk or dairy products in their diet. Choose lean meats, poultry, fish, lentils and beans for protein. Keep a check on serving size. Encourage the kid to drink lots of water. Limit sugar-sweetened beverages, sugar, sodium and saturated fat.
